The Flight of Dragons

Comments by: Rating: 10 out of 10 stars Posted: July 09, 2003

By far the most magical of all cartoons.

Most people watch a fair few movie cartoons in their life. A great many of them can be rated 10 out of 10 whether it be graphics, music, storyline, or whatever. You'll probably watch it again and again for the sake of it simply because it is an excellent movie. However, The Flight Of Dragons has something special about it that I have not seen in any other cartoon so far to date - it gives a truely magical experience when watching it. But there's nothing special about that. Many cartoons do that I hear you cry! :0) And you'd be right. However, how many cartoons leave you wondering whether there really is magic out there. Do we, in our daily lives deny magic by choosing logic. Did the dragons really exist - after all the cartoon explains the abilities of dragons with such profound logic. And more importantly, was Carolinus right in building the magic realm, for without magic in the world of logic, there will always be dreamers yearning for the world of magic to be back (if it was ever here in the first place) and those that practice logic within the magic realm when their faith in magic finally fails? Which brings us back to the beginning of the story of magic and ogres and princes and princesses. Cheers, Kalten. p.s. Listen to the lyrics of the opening title song. Is that now the only doorway left to the world of magic? :0)
