Haunted Town Parties Down

Like the other entries in Walter Lantz's series of cartoons dedicated to the Boogie Woogie style, this one has enough controversial images to keep it off television. However, that doesn't mean it isn't to be enjoyed whenever one can find it being shown. It rocks! The action all concerns a convention of ghosts who gather in (where else?) a western ghost town. They sing, dance and cavort - in fact the whole convention seems to be one big musical production number set to the 8-to-the-bar Boogie Woogie Rhythm. The often surreal animation is first rate and the Technicolor oozes from the screen. If you love Boogie Woogie Swing music, this is for you. Rarely shown, I had to track down a 16mm film copy and never tire of showing it...this one is a real crowd pleaser!
