Wildfire was my favorite cartoon way back in '86 and "Meeting in Time" was my favorite episode. Since the pilot episode didn't give a lot of back story, "Meeting in Time" helped fill in a few blanks by setting up and delivering the fateful curse.
Diabolyn is an entertaining villain who bears similarities to two of Disney's greatest villains Malificent and the Evil Queen of Snow White; however her ineptness is much more reminiscent of Gargamel. Princess Sara is a little flat but Wildfire is actually pretty cool, even now. And the goofy antics of the side characters still make me chuckle.
The voice casting was excellent, and the animation pretty good. The horses especially look great even with their bizarre colors.
Great show. Shame it's not available on DVD.
