Another artistic failure
Disney continues their direct-to-video artistic failures with Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. I've also continued my habit of spending a buck or so for a rental at the local library. This video consists of three short episodes, in one, Cinderella deals with life in the castle, another episode features the mice and short story deals with Cinderella's forgetable redhaired stepsister.Cinderella's troubles adjusting to the castle could have made a good story. Unfortunately, it turns into another of Disney's favorite, trite theme of being true to yourself and so on. Disney also continues to reuse story ideas. The mice ordeals with the cat should be quite familiar to anyone who saw the first Cinderella. Finally, Cinderella's stepsister falls for the local plump commoner and Cinderella wishes to get them together. All in all, lackluster writing, invisible originality and boring, shallow storylines. I look forward to the next direct to video sequel Disney has planned, if only to laugh at.
