This cartoon represents the passing of the torch between Freleng's two favorite fall-guys in a Bugs cartoon, Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam (with a white mustache here).
Indeed, the only conceivable flaw with this cartoon is that Elmer really doesn't have it in him to be a real "boo-hiss" villain.
