"Pirate's Gold" isn't as funny as most other Heckle & Jeckle movies, but it ends with an outrageous gag involving the Internal Revenue Service. Unfortunately, if you're a little kid — and you haven't yet encountered the wonderful world of paying taxes and being in hock to the IRS for your whole adult life — this cartoon's final gag will be over your head. And if you're a tax-paying grownup, the gag at the end of this cartoon will probably seem too painful to be funny.
A decent entry for a Heckle & Jeckle cartoon festival, but not funny enough to climax the show.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give "Pirate's Gold" a 6 ... but without that final gag, this cartoon would be lucky to rate a 5.
