Popeye leaves a bird cage with the note: "When I leaves ya and goes off to sea, I hope this parrot reminds ya of me". Bluto comes along and scares the parrot. Popeye comes to the rescue in a be kind to animals, or in this case, parrots theme.

Students of animation might take note that
there are several wild cartoon takes done with Olive that predate the wild takes credited to Tex Avery in the 1940s.
