This cartoon features one of the few times the creators let Bluto (or another guy) kiss Olive Oyl on the lips. (For the record, the other incidents of lip kissing in the Famous Studios' toons are found in TOPS IN THE BIG TOP, THE ROYAL FOUR-FLUSHER, PRE-HYSTERICAL MAN, ALPINE FOR YOU.) Here, he gives her a long, passionate one that turns her into melted butter. Then, he, being a mystic, turns Popeye into a parrot. Luckily, Olive manages to feed the Popeye parrot his spinach instead of a cracker. At the end of the cartoon, Popeye kisses the Statue Of Liberty instead of Olive. As a kid, I always thought that was odd, not realizing how it must have played directly after World War II.
