Its an enjoyable cartoon the first in which Shorty tries to help Popeye, but gets in his way. Ted Turner & his gang have deleted a scene in the end in which Popeye shoots Shorty & we see a sign "the bitter end." The only reason the early Popeye cartoons were in black & white was because Walt Disney owned exclusively the rights for color, otherwise the Popeye cartoons would have been in color too.
