The Dover Boys at Pimento University or the Rivals of Roquefort Hall

This gem comes in second only to One Froggy Evening and What's Opera Doc. Dover Boys can be enjoyed on its own. But to totally appreciate the humor, you have to be familiar with its context, as in knowing what neighborhood air raid wardens or meat rationing were in some WWII period cartoons.
Here Ted Pierce has parodied one of a 1900-1920 childhood book series familiar to the 1942 adult audience: The Rover Boys at School or the Cadets of Putnam Hall by Arthur Wnfield. After reading the flyleaf with list of their previous adventures and the first chapter, you will have all the perspective the writer and audience had in 1942.
You can meet Tom, Dick & Harry, Dora Stanhope, and the bully/cad Dan Baxter. Readily available at www.AbeBooks.com
The Dover Boys At Pimento University or The Rivals Of Roquefort Hall
This is my favorite Warner Bros. Cartoon not to include a principal looney tune character. It is really funny and has nicely drawing techniques done by Chuck Jones. Also Dan Backslide is a really silly villian too. The songs here are good too.

Brilliant, just brilliant...
...if you've never seen this one, you don't know what you've missed. Rent it, buy it, however you get a copy, don't miss it any longer!
Heck, to paraphrase Dan Backslide, "Steal it! No one will ever know!"
Just kidding.
