Different Seventies animation when Gus is running
When Gus is in the bank during a robbery, he leaps threw a window and hides in the bushes. The two robbers realize they are losing money out of their money bag, so they accidentally grab up Gus' belt to tie up the bag. When the getaway chariot takes off, Gus is forced to run after them. Witnesses believe Gus is chasing after the robbers, and so do the robbers. They try to lose Gus, but he won't be shaken. In the end, Gus is called a hero, but he feels it isn't the truth when he accidentally knocked out the robbers when they stopped at a stop sign and he was hurled into them by his belt.
Gus' little conscience begins to bother him, but then he gets an agent on the bus one morning who tells him he could be a bigger star. Gus quits his job and appears on the Carsonius show with Vava Lamour.
Gus' conscience tells him now that Laurie is taking in washing to make a living, Precocia is selling flowers and Happy is shining shoes. Brutus is fiddling door-to-door.
When a new hero is declared, one Flavio Octavio who held up the leaning tower in Pisa, Gus is history. He goes home to "good ol', trustworthy Laurie" he finds she has left him for Flavio Octavio.
The celebrity-dom was all a dream. Gus then steps forward and tells everyone what really happened when he "caught" the criminals. All is forgiven in the end.
