Cartoon Comments:

Seein' Red, White, 'N' Blue 10 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: Bluto, May 31, 2003

A mixture of wild, wild gags and wartime propaganda. Popeye and Bluto actually put aside their differences near the end of the picture and team up to take care of a nest of spies. (All Americans must pull together to win the war, afterall.) Popeye manages to punch out both Hirohito and Hitler! A cartoon that's not only historically interesting, but also entertaining (despite the unfortunate use of racial stereotypes)."

Classic! Seek It Out!

It's a shame that this cartoon is not allowed any TV air play-it's a gem.
I watched it several times as a kid and just thought that Popeye was belting someone else besides Bluto...no more, no
less. Shoving the spinach can down Bluto's throat was a scream. I urge people to seek out this cartoon.
The last time this was aired (in color),
Turner & Co. ended it right after the
tires were taken away.

What can I say?

- direction by Dan Gordon
- great Jim Tyer animation
- lots of sight gags

This all adds up to a classic WWII cartoon!!
